Already LS1 swapped Camaro now doing dash swap, LOST.

OK so i'm pretty sure I'm going to swap the dash in my 91 Camaro since the Tach and Speedo do not work and I have a gauge cluster from a 99 TA and a 95 TA dash with everything to go in it.... Problem is I have no clue how to wire any of it and I tried searching but couldn't find anything for a LS swaped car. Can someone help me out? Would it be eaiser just to get a 99ish TA dash harness? Thanks

Re: Already LS1 swapped Camaro now doing dash swap, LOST.

most of the wiring is independent of the engine/pcm; the only stuff that is specific to the ls1 pcm is the serial data for the gauges. all the other guides should have the rest of the wiring covered

also dug this up, hope it helps

Re: Already LS1 swapped Camaro now doing dash swap, LOST.

The info's out there but its scattered everywhere. Get the gauge cluster pinouts for a 87 Iroc, then one for a 99 TA. Splice all the common stuff like; turn signals, hi beams, etc into a 99 gauge cluster pigtail. Some gauges on the 99 cluster run off serial data; like fuel level. For those you need to tap into the pcm pinouts.

Heres the gauge cluster pinout I made for my 86 Iroc just to give you an idea. Pinouts can vary from year to year.

I'm going to try tackling this as well. I got a free '97 Camaro dash which is awesome because apparently the speedo is easier to wire than the '98+ cars. I'm probably not going to start on mine until after the driving season is over. I am going to have an empty 3rd gen camaro shell to use for test fitting as well.

Yea at this time I'm just trying to get everything together as my 91 Camaro is my cruiser until the 87 (my Bruiser) is back on the road. I might try it in the next couple weeks though if I get all the parts ready to go.

well i know that if u didnt want to swap out the whole dash right away that the cluster from the ls1 will fit with some mods.. and looks pretty good to just need to connect the correct wires..

Yea car currently has none of that installed either trying to get the car nice. Not sure if I want to keep it when my IROC is done or sell or trade for a silverado.

so i'm working on wiring up after market gauges for my ls1 swap. I have the 4th gen body harness, so this is the connector I will be splicing into. The back lights for the gauges are LED and nondimmable, so can you tell me which one of these I would use to power them? Is A13 used for dimming the lights and B9 for supplying the voltage to the lights?
