My slow build
So about 6 months ago I decided I wanted a project for my car. Here I am missing out on great weather because my car is in pieces and on jackstands...
It all started with a simple teardown and cleanup, but why not stick a cam in while im there right? So I did some research and decided to go with the hotcam.
Which sprung all sorts of ideas and later issues, Like traction and other supporting mods. Heres my closest parts rundown on my project,
Engine parts
Hotcam used 200$
comp cams lifters came with cam
Prw 1.6rr SA 160$
Lt4 springs 28$ reusing stock hardware
Timing chain 23$
Valve seals alexparts .558 25$
Head gaskets .026 victor reinz 40$
All other gaskets with two oilpan gaskets 120$
Total: 596.00
Suspension
Founders lca's with bolts 80$
Founders adjustable phb with bolts 80$
160$
Tools bought
Head spring compressor 25$
Dremel with tons of bits 100$
125$
Project runtime: too long haha looking forward to finishing Total money spent: 881.00$ for at least 1 full second in the 1/4 pretty good IMO
Here is the time best pictures to sum up my progress
Starting with this
Notice the terrible filter placement right on top of the radiator hose
Ill skip the boring part. Had the heads off. Why not port them
Before
After
Before chamber
After
Here I am now heads on ready for intake
Fixed my Custom H.A.I too
More pics later need to eat cheeseburgers!!! om nom

Re: My slow build
Stayed up till three last night got the new suspension pieces in and tight looks really good next to my rusty tenbolt
Day before I did some wiring and installed the a/c and power steering
Here are the custom a/c lines on of the members on here made me! They fit great and have plenty of clearance and came with an adapter block
Thanks Firebat!
Next is to put the ypipe up on the headers and it can sit on the ground after that
Still have to port the intake manifold and then put it on then its all easy as eating pie after that So Pumped to drive
