So you think this is my problem

I got a itch to take my opti off and check it.
Its however really simple in my car, Total of 30 minutes and here's what I found

All of this troubleshooting the past 2 years looking for a random missfire and randomly running perfect. Hopefully. Do you think that was the problem

Re: So you think this is my problem

I had one that looked similar to that and it caused similar symptoms to what you are describing. Changed it out and everything was good to go. Mine was on a new GM opti that had less that 1k on it as well. Luckily GM replaced it under warranty because their parts have a 1 year warranty on them. Don't know if they still do that or not, but never hurts to check.

Re: So you think this is my problem

Ya while looking at the missfire chart on the ethos it would randomly missfire at idle mostly cylinder 2 and 3.Im guessing this is the area that is burned on the cap. but lately it had gotten worse. I already checked plugs and wires. tested the coil and icm all seemed good. Just bought an accel cap on ebay to get me by till i can do more things at once.
