Help with LSX swap in DFW??

After owning the 91 vert z28 for 10 yrs now, I finally have time and money to get this done.

Have about 20 grand to put into this project.

Have all the mods in my sig and car is drivable but not street legal as it has no rt fender, hood, or front bumper.

Taking to body shop for all the body pieces to be replaced, dents pulled, door hinge replacement, window adjustment, and spohn vert sfc installation, and other minor body issues.

Originally I was going to keep a stock appearing but modified tpi engine. After much thought I am going to do an LSX conversion (so tired of all the tpi sensors and general tpi performance). I figure if its gonna be fuel injected then I want something more technologically advanced, better performing, faster, and less of a headache than the tpi has been for me.

I also plan to make it a 6-speed manual [from the stock auto].

I have plans for the interior as well and my dream is to get magazine coverage.

I am looking for a reputable body shop and engine/trans shop in the DFW area that can handle this project. Thought about lg motorsports but they [it appears] work only on vettes. Havent contacted them yet.

Anyone here have any recommendations for somewhere to get body work and ls swap done right in the dfw area?

You should have a real nice ride after you put 20 grand into it! Any pics of the car in it's current shape? What LS engine are you planning on using?

I'm not sure if they work on cars, but Texas Speed and Performance is in Wolfforth, TX. Good luck with everything.

Re: Help with LSX swap in DFW??

matthufham: I live in Temple Texas currently (just a temporary work thing past year). Not able to make it this Fri, but the next its on. Tell me about your ride and if you'll be there next Friday.

BlueZee: There she is in all her glory. Looks the same now minus hood, fender, and front end. Not to worry though, I plan on doing an entire photo album on the process from start to finish.

Havent had time yet but will check out websites for speedtek, hccperformance. and texas speed and performance.

Anyone check out the most recent Popular Hot Rodding with the mustang and split window vette from the guy in Louisiana? Done protouring style but with a nod toward an "aircraft" style technology appearance inside and out. Both done beautifully.

Makes me proud to know the shape of the 3rd gen and "cockpit" were influenced by the Concord jet.
