Car: 1991 camaro RS
Engine: currently swapping 5.3
Transmission: 4l60e
Axle/Gears: soon to be 4:11
v6 4l60le?

I'm swapping a 5.3 into my 91 camaro with the truck comuter, willl a 4l60e out of a v6 camaro work? Will the tourqe arm work? I'm havin a hard time finding a 4l60e for an fbody, could u swap the tailshaft of the v6 on to a truck 4l60e?

Car: 82 Berlinetta/57 Bel Air
Engine: LS1/LQ4
Transmission: 4L60E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
The torque arm will work. I'm a little fuzzy on whether or not the V6 4L60E will fit on an LS type engine. I'm pretty sure the bell housing will have to be changed, which probably rules out the '95-earlier trannies.

I did look into this a couple of years ago (had an extra LQ4 laying around at the time). Like I said I'm a little fuzzy on all the details, but I do remember my conclusion was I needed to find a '98-up V8 transmission (which I never did, and traded the LQ4 for some headers).

Swapping the bellhousing and converter will get it to bolt up, but the guts are still weaker. LS1tech has some good info on them in the auto trans forum
