I was reading that the early 6.0 vortec cranks were 1/2 inch longer to mate to a 4l80e that mates with the old chevy motors. so does that mean i can mate this lt1 t56 I got to an early 6.0 motor.

I thought about the same thing, but with all the searching I've done I can't find anyone who has tried it.

It might, just because the transmissions that DO bolt up with the truck crank are the older version transmissions like the 700R4, TH350, etc...all of which bolt directly up to an LT1, so you would think that whatever would bolt up to an LT1 would also work with the truck crank...I guess you'd have to try it out and see. You may have to change the bell housing though.

Come to think of it, I do remember reading about someone who tried this. They gave up after running into starter issues. They swapped out the crank, swapped out the input shaft and mid plate and used an LSx bellhousing instead. They said it was less work that way.
Seems like a lot of work to be less work, which makes me think the LTx T-56 on an LSx motor might not be worth while.
