Lt1 whats next?

I wouldn't say i'm not happy with my car at this point because its way faster than with the 305 but its still not quite fast enough for my taste. My current setup is lt1/t56 with 52mm tb, electric water pump, full hooker exhaust with no cat, k&n filter ram air tube, de-screened maf, pro 5.0 shifter, a/c delete, pcmforless tune, free mods. im sure i forgot something. Im not sure what gears i have but its a lt1 disc brake rear out of a 96 so either 3:42 or 3:73 right? i took of the cover in school once and glanced at the ring gear and i swear i saw 2:41 stamped on it?!? Where do i go from here? should i go for a cam. Or upgrade ignition? I kind of want to wait to do a le3 383 later on but dont have the budget for that. I have around 600 dollars to waste on this car can i get anywhere with that? how fast should this car be right now? maybe somethings wrong with it so it feels slow... i think i may have expected too much from the lt1 Feel free to leave your opinion

+2 on a cam.

A bigger cam (maybe a cc503), springs, roller rockers, and another tune would wake it up for sure. Although youll be over $600

Re: Lt1 whats next?

First thing, put the screen back into the maf. removing it causes alot of problems for a tuner.
Have you dynoed the car or run it at the track? it would be nice to know where you are at currently. What are your ultimate goals? are you chasing a hp number or an et, or do you just want fast?
More info on intended useage would help.

The only reason the maf screen is out is because it was broken and only half was there so i removed the rest. If i could find one i would buy it. I realize its purpose is to smooth airflow and im not helping it by removing it. I havent dynoed it or taken it to the track but ive raced plenty of cars to know that its running fine for what it is. My ultimate goal is undetermined its purely a street car and isnt my dd anymore because i bought a silverado ss. In the end i just want a car to be proud of which i already am, i think im going to save up for a 355 le2 and loyds custom cam. all in all intended usage is weekend cruiser that will beat just about anything that pulls up next to me. i know theres always someone faster but around here theres nothing fancy just mustangs camaros and a few imports.

Karma really got me bad earlier this year... there was a post back when i put my wheels on commenting on the line of the door being wierd looking but it was perfect. Then about a month later i opened my door and a car hit it pretty bad so ive been messing with that. had to get a new door and shim it just a mess, just now got door panels to match. went with gta's again. end rant lol

Re: Lt1 whats next?

If those are your goals. they are easily attainable with a head and cam package. even with my old setup hotcam/le head combo my car was a ton of fun on the street. my current setup is even more fun. a rolling 1-2 shift at 35mph smokes the tires.
