Would it fit??
So the idea of finding one of those wrecked 2010 camaros has been rolling around my head for a few days and swapping the engine and tranny into my 87 IROC.... would those fit with little fabing? or has anyone already tried it?

Re: Would it fit??
The LS3 or the L99?
The 2010 has two seperate V8 LS based motors depending on the tranny.
Auto has the L99 and Manual has the LS3.
L99 is the better choice do to variable cam timing is letting them put out more then the Ls3 right now.
But either engine is LSX design so with the ls motor mounts they should swap just like an LS1 or Lq4/9 or LM7. The tranny I'm not sure about swapping over as it might use a different size tail shaft then the 4l60E or 700r4 you'd have to look.
Good luck finding an engine for less than premium right now. It will be a few years till they start getting into the junkyards. LS1's are still hard to come by in the yards at least down in FL.

if you're going auto, it'll take a bit of work to get that 6sp to fit, but I'd say its worth it. for the money these motors are fetching right now, you could build a killer 6.0L setup. not really worth it at this time.

Re: Would it fit??
yeah i would try and get the LS3 only cause i want to put a manual tranny in my car. I plan on ripping out the dash and doing a completely custom dash and center console anyway plus doing an entire engine swap and rebuild to the car so i figured id see if those engines and trannys would fit so later down the road when i go to do the swap i would know they might fit.
