Re: LT1 swap update
Transmission ready to go in and the lt1 all cleaned up and in. All i have left to do is figure out fuel lines, Put the tranny in, the starter, weld some o2 bungs, wire it up not sure how to do that yet. im sure im forgetting a few things. If anyone wants to shed some light on the wiring id be happy. i have the wiring harness out of the firebird just not sure where the c105 c100 and the black bue and white plugs splice into my existing harness. If i missed something you want to know just ask and thanks for looking

Re: LT1 swap update
Wow, the LT cleaned up nicely, lol. I'm starting this swap myself so definitely keep updating this, lol. I've only got the T56 and just picked up a motor earlier this week. Gonna clean er up and swap in a cam, prolly have the heads done, RR's and a bunch of precautionary parts replacement (timing set, gaskets, cap/ rotor, etc etc). As for the wiring, have you read the sticky over and over? There's a bunch of other links floating around you could look at that I found more helpful too. The wiring is the part I'm kinda worried about, but I'm sure it'll all become clear after I actually get to that step and complain for a while, lol. Good luck!!
BTW, idk if you've tried this place before, but try this link (below). There's a spot prolly 3/4 of the way down the first post with a link to a pic that circles the parts/ points where you splice the wires. Sorry if you've already seen it or it doesn't help ya.

Re: LT1 swap update
The motor is all stock except the electric water pump. I replaced most of the gaskets when i tore it down. I was going to swap in a cam but i dd this car and class starts soon so i decided to wait and get it running for now and do some motor work later. Im mostly excited about the 6 speed i hated the auto it always chose the wrong gear imho.
id rather choose my own
I put the transmission in along with the headers and such I still have to figure out the oxygen sensors. The only thing i dont understand about the wiring is do the c100 and c105 go to the plugs under the passenger side of the dash. And the c210 c230 c220 go to the bulkhead? if this is right are those the only wires i splice and do i pull out the ones that got replaced. ive read the wiring threads like crazy but i dont see where it says which connectors to splice to.
I hope the above questions made sense to someone reading this

Which plugs on the fourthgen harness go here?
And what about here?
I cut the shifter hole and installed the shifter. Still need to buy a plate

How's it going? I'm currently STILL getting things wrapped up with my swap -similar to yours; I 've made major progress and will have pics up soon. I bought a rolling chassis '95 Z28 for my RS. Anyhow, here are some resources I used:
Lt1 into 3rd Gen swap wiring By Oneslowz28
Shbox.com
And some questions I have unanswered from a thread I posted up.
If someone will please help all of us currently working on wiring, I promise I will write up a step-by-step with pictures to save thread/board space... I swear...

Re: LT1 swap update
Maybe "major progress" was a bit of an over statement ... I just removed my old motor and the LT is getting ready to be put in. I'm trying to get the wiring done first so that, just maybe, it can be a plug and play ordeal; according to the write-up on camaroz28.com... hopefully...
I attached some more resources that I was and still am using... just stuff I found researching the web and message boards. The "wiring notes" file is a post someone made -in no way do I claim this stuff as my own original work. This is all researched information I copied and saved for reference(s). Maybe it will help you.
Currently, I'm going to pull out my old harness completely. The C100 I soldered in was missing the plastic and was temporary. I'll be doing it again, which is why I offered to do a write-up. I'll have my entire harness out which is good.
In doing my wiring, I realized that my C220 was missing the tan wire to wire up the ALDL port; I'm thinking that I might have to use it from the C105 connector. That's the only option that makes sense to me. You will find that the camaroz28.com write up is pretty straight forward except for minor stuff I found out in doing my own harness. Take a good look at the connectors.doc file. That should clear up the C105 questions. All those wires are for all the 4th gen technology traction controls (with the exception of the tan wire).
Hopefully someone will chime in with some advice.

looks great... where did you get that intake? keep the red, it matches up really nice with your manifold.

Hey good looking intall! Keeps us up to date when you get it fired up. Just a quick question? Looks like your running and electric water pump? If so, Any concerns with reliability for a street driven vehicle? Thanks

Re: LT1 swap update
I talked to the guys from CSI when I was at Bristol for an NHRA race and they said their pump cooled down better than the stock pump did and would work fine for daily driving....and it's rebuildable.

Re: LT1 swap update
I heard that for stoplights and slow traffic it did better than the cam driven and the cam driven was better for highway so we will see how i like it

Re: LT1 swap update
keep a spare e waterpump in the trunk. I have been running one for about 3 years, without any problems. however when it dies it dies. If you carry a spare you are always prepared.
