OOPS! / harness-ECU question
I've got a C5 LS1.
The guy I got it from threw a 2002 SS harness at me-all he had.
I just got a C5 ECU (ebay).
The ECU plugs bear NO resemblance to anything on the harness.
The C5 and the C5 ECU are attractive to me for their plug and play aspects. The engine has nice hp and the matching ECU will NOT need reprogramming.
SO... do I have to look for a C5 harness???

Re: OOPS! / harness-ECU question
well your going to have either PCM programmed to delete vats, egr, adjust speedo, etc
Which will be harder to find, the '02 PCM, or the C5 harness. I'm guessing harness.
good luck with your search

Re: OOPS! / harness-ECU question
Thanks, Jason. This will take some time, yes.
One plus, the 'Vettes don't have EGR. Everything else....mmmmm... guess I'll have to learn some more.
If anyone else wants to chime in......

Re: OOPS! / harness-ECU question
You can find used PCM's for 100 bucks fairly often. Sometimes less and its MUCH easier to go with a matching PCM and harness then it is to try and convert over. Its not impossible but I cant for any good reason see why you would want to do that. Once you have everything hooked up you will probably need to get some codes removed though. Either way you slice it when you mix and match platforms you are in for some tweaking

Re: OOPS! / harness-ECU question
Thanks, Cam.
I'm hoping a C5 harness will show up.
I am CONSTANTLY fiddling with the Calmap tune on my 383... the hope is for that to be past.
What I will get with a C5 harness will be interesting...
In the meantime, I'm looking for a few other things, too (can you say bellhousing?)

I saw a scatter shield for sale over at Tech a month or so back that was priced well if not contact sixspeedsinc. I'm sure Joe will be able to hook you up for a decent price
