Dash Vent Detent Washers
Hey All, I've been searching for info here about replacement foam washers that stabilize the dash vents and surprisingly, I find nothing. Is there anything available for renewing this item? I was thinking that floppy dash vents would be at least a luke warm topic but I'm not finding anything here or elsewhere. Thanks

They are universal.... We all had them....
Go to home Depot and buy some of the small felt pads you put on cabinet doors so the close softly. Remove the vent and take off the old foam... Clean the surface and add one on each side... I use the very dark brown ones... Reinstall..
Has worked nicely on four cars...

I was thinking about foam tape, if there's nothing available commercially but the furniture pads are a fine option.

I used thin black felt cut from a small sheet bought at Walmart or Hobby Lobby.

Thanks, Aaron. How has it held up?

Good. That was 10-15 years ago. I think I used some mild glue to hold the felt pieces in place on each vent. The felt is just the right amount of friction to keep the vent from flipping around.

I also use white self-adhesive felt from the hardware store. They are usually available in the furniture Parts department to dampen drawers or doors. mostly they are sold in 30 x 30 cm sheets

Would the soft side of adhesive backed Velcro work? You can get a pack of 2-4 pretty cheap at Walmart.

That's another good idea, Banditt. It would probably hold up good compared to the originals. Thanks
