Remove Upper Door Moulding By Itself?

I need to tighten the in-out wobble for both windows and haven't removed the door panels before. I'm sure I'll destroy those plastic rivets putting them back in and the plastic is already so brittle I don't want to chance it if I can avoid it altogether, so my question is, is it possible to remove just the upper plastic to access the felt window pressure tabs without removing the lower part of the panel or does it all have to come off before I have access to it? I poked around trying to unclip it but don't want to apply too much pressure and risk breaking anything.

No I Believe They Are Attached To The Door Panel With Plastic Rivets

You can, but you'll tear all the cardboard mounting points on the door panel (if they're not already torn).

Alright, guess we won't be doing any of that, then. Thanks!

Are you talking about the felt strips that are bolted to the top of the door, just under the moulding. Ive adjusted them with a 1/4 socket and a wobble extension. Its a tight squeeze but you can get the socket in there. Just have to go easy.

Re: Remove Upper Door Moulding By Itself?

Just pull the bottom of the door panel out after you release the pins securing the panel to door frame.
Pull bottom away and slide the plastic top panel backwards at the same time.
Both should all come off in one piece.

If the cardboard rips off the plastic panel you can repair it with pop rivets
because they will be hidden.
The studs on the plastic panel that bond them together are heat melted over and useless.
Thats why pop rivets.
