module on HVAC box behind dash id
should’ve taken pictures but now dash is back on
Noticed a module to the right of the hvac unit (hanging off the hvac unit) with a chip connector but nothing to plug into it. Black box with looked official GM rather than aftermarket. Any ideas what this might be?
tried searching and might be a cruise control piece? But seems an odd and no connector but my cruise worked fine?
car is a 91 TA 5speed
Any steers would be great

Perhaps sometime in the car's past the cruise module failed, and someone plugged in a new module and tucked it up into the dash somewhere, without putting it in the proper location?

Maybe it was put there by the government. Have you been speaking ill of parliament?

Lol, with Boris as PM they’d have to track most of the nation
I think OrangeBird is right and it’s the Cruise Module perhaps repositioned on later airbag cars. I have a pro-flo intake and no immediate provision for the cruise cable so no loss if so

For closure, looks like it is the cruise module per post 6 of the linked

Related question. I'm building a 1990 with an LS1 so not a big deal (I can't use this module, right?) ... But my car does NOT have a cruise control stalk on it. I was surprised to find this cruise module in the passenger side dash because of that. Did all cars get it? or was my stalk perhaps swapped or something? Thoughts?
