Sun visor

If you put the sun visor up it drifts to the down position. Any ideas on how to fix this. Wrap the rod with paper, tape of something.

There was someone on here who is 3D printing brackets for sun visors. Sorry I can't tell you any more than that. I do know that they were very reasonably priced.

Re: Sun visor

With mine the rod had worked loose from the rest and spun loose. I took it out, pulled the rod all the way out and epoxied it back in. Unless you just need to tighten the screw that clamps against the rod and keeps that from happening. Flip it down and see if the screw will tighten first. Lots of older GM cars have similar ones if you have a JY handy also.

Re: Sun visor

The plastic sleeve wearing down is usually the issue, second is the loose pin. I've made sleeves from that clear blister packing some products come in. Works very well.

Re: Sun visor

The mount pin is just splined and pressed into the elbow. The pin can get loose and turn in the elbow. Over-tightening the screw just makes the problem worse since flipping the visor down and up just spins the splines in the elbow. Sometimes you can just tap the pin deeper into the elbow with a hammer.

Re: Sun visor

My pins were loose. I used lock tite on the pins and then put a wrap of a piece of paper around the pin and no more saggy visors. Thanks guys.
