New to me. 91 Z28
Hello, I'm new here. I've been lurking for about a year. I picked up a 91 Z28 today so I have some questions. I need ( would like) a OEM steering wheel complete assembly to replace the aftermarket the PO installed. Any danger of installing with the air bag?
I also need the driver seat. Bad tear. Can a passenger seat be used if you switch the tilt forward device? Can you switch the tilt forward device?
The steering wheel turns harder than I think it should and when you turn the wheel just a little going down the road it doesn't come back to center. Ideas on what's wrong? Bad ball joints?

You will likely have better luck in the parts wanted section farther down the page or in specific boards dedicated for help with issues in different areas
This is a good spot for seat and steering wheel questions. Steering problems are more steering or suspension related I guess. Just look around , read a bit, and try the search feature. Good chance the questions and answers are already here. Good luck!

Boards have been slowing down for years traffic wise, and see they see a good dropoff in the winter months as well as folks just aren't using their cars as much.
I'd recommend you call Hawks motorsports (they're one of the sponsors) and ask your questions about seat interchange and steering. They'd be able to sell you the used parts you're looking for as well.
For a bad tear, you may consider having the covers redone instead of replacing the seat itself (on either the one, or both fronts to ensure they match). Just a thought.

For the tough steering, I would check the steering box adjustment. If it gets overtightened, it will cause thought steering that you mentioned.
You loosen the lock nut on top of the box and then use a hex key to loosen the adjustment... Turn it back down until it starts to tighten, then back off about 1/8th of a turn. Hold the key steady and tighten the lock nut. This usually loosens up the box... If it still is right, the box may be failing... Or there is a bind in the linkage.
