Replace the Window Sweep on the Door Panel Itself

Anyone here actually replaced the window sweep on the door panel? I replaced the sweep on the outside of the door.

Re: Replace the Window Sweep on the Door Panel Itself

yep.... i ended up cutting off the original plastic heads that held the old one on, still keeping the plastic shafts (if you will)... and then pop-riveting the new weatherstripping in place.

I think went back with some black touch up paint and made all the heads black so they would disappear.... so to say.

I've used copper box staples to re-install replacement inner sweeps; just drilled 2 small holes where each staple was used, pushed each staple in, then bend over the 2 ends. Staples have the lowest profile and don't interfere with anything when the door panel gets re-installed. ( and they can't rust ! )
