Re: Pro 5.0 shift ****.

On my 89, I used a pro 5.0 shifter, but attached a Hurst shift lever to it. -just a thought.

Re: Pro 5.0 shift ****.

Ok, so I've had (3) Pro 5.0 Shifters. -since I do NOT have thread sizes, I'm not going to guess, but here goes.

My T5 5.0 did NOT fit my stock T5 ****, OR the replacement Hurst ****. I cut the end and welded on a bolt.
My TKO 5.0 fit the same Hurst **** that I adapted to use on the T5 shifter. So definitely different than the T5 shifter. No need to modify.
My T56 5.0 is the same as my T5. I know because the **** that came with the T5 threads onto the T56. I still have this one. I could verify, but don't have the specs at this time.

Doesn't make sense. When I got my latest T56 shifter, I had planned to actually use the old ****. It's more of a race style than old school hurst style. I kinda laughed when I saw it fit. Lucky me I guess, lol.

Re: Pro 5.0 shift ****.

Here are pics showing the T56 lever and ****. ....and as I said, it was the same threads as the T5 I got many many years ago. Looks pretty similar but the stock T5 **** didn't wanna thread.

Re: Pro 5.0 shift ****.

So after some real quick research.....looks like Mustang threads are different. Could certainly imagine a mix up being possible. ...also seeing some posts on LS1tech about people having to mod their handles. ... I'd imagine it has something to do with the Ford/GM thing.

Factory shift **** here, too.

1/2" cut off of the top to shorten it, painted black to match factory.
