Holes Drilled in the Brake and Gas Pedal

I was looking at a 1989 Firebird 3.8L V6 turbo online which is in mint condition. I noticed the brake and gas pedals have a hole drilled through them. Why is this ? Please don't tell me the car was a Driver Ed car ?

It's to screw in the wooden block for the people with short legs.

My guess would be some moron decided to install giant chrome pedal covers in it, and drilled right through the pedal to install them.

My T/A had a particularly tasteless set on it when I got it, but no holes drilled in mine.

That's my bet. How big, how many and where are the holes?

Re: Holes Drilled in the Brake and Gas Pedal

You can get a clean gas pedal and replace it if you need. The gas pedal is pretty easy to r&r, it's just held in there with a spring and pin. And if you replace the rubber pad on the brake pedal that'll obviously cover the holes.
