I am really frustrated right now. I cannot for the life of me get my rear view mirror button to stick to my windshield. I clean the old glue off of the windshield, clean the windoshield, give it a few minutes to dry, scrape off the glue from the button and then apply the new glue. As soon as I stick the button to the windshield, it won't stick. All it does is slide around. I held it in place to the length of Master of Puppets and as soon as I take my hand away it falls down!
I've gone through 3 different mirror kits and the last one just now!

I've been having the same problem dude,...

I'm guessing that the mirror kits these days are not using the same adhesive as back in the 'old days' because until a couple years ago - I never had a problem. Like you, I've tried several different mirror adhesive kits and have even tried to re-attach the button under different conditions. ( warm-in the sun, cool-in the shade, Dry weather, Humid weather, ect... )

Might be worth going to a glass installer and have them stick it on?

I did this 3 years ago and it held for 3 years! In the Florida heat no less. It only took me the first try.

I used nail polish remover to clean off the old glue, then cleaned the Windshield with glass cleaner. I scrapped the back of the button with a razor blade and sandpapered it after.

At this point, you are probably right. I will try one last kit tonight and if it doesn't work, I'll take it to a shop tomorrow.

I'm not sure about the nail polish but the glass cleaner could be the problem. It leaves a thin layer of product on the glass to prevent dust, etc from accumulating. This could be keeping the glue from adhering to the glass as well.

I would use rubbing alcohol to clean both surfaces before applying the glue. It removes all contaminants from the surface. I also believe the kit I used included a cleaning solvent to use on both (probably alcohol).

Did You Use The Activator On The Glass And The Button And Wait 2 Minutes For It To Dry And Apply Only 1 Drop Of Glue To The Button.

Less is actually more, in this case. The activator or primer is important as well.
