Remove power door locks
I am working on some weight reduction ideas with the doors. I have my door panel off, and am considering removing my power door actuators, as they don't work properly and I don't use them (street/strip car).
Can I just remove the actuator and I am good to go, or do I need to do something else?
Thanks in advance!

thats about it to them besides wiring. The weight saving is so minimal tho as the actuator might weight 2lbs.

Re: Remove power door locks
So if I can get 2 pounds out for the actuator, 6 pounds out for the crash bar, maybe 4 pounds out for lightweigh door panels, 3 pounds for each arm rest, and maybe 5 pounds of steel out of the door, that would be 15-20 pounds per door. x 2 doors = 40 pounds.

Re: Remove power door locks
If you take the door bars out and drive it on the street I hope you never get hit in the door as thats you only savior. To me Id like to cut the weight down as well but being a street car im not worried about me but the other idiots out there.
Did you remove the front and rear re-inforcement or crash bars as they call them? that will save you a good 150lbs easy
