Window help please
Alright so after the rewire of my 86 with a 00 harness my pass window wont roll down all the way it gets stuck halfway I know the wiring is all correct so it has something to do with the mechanism's in the door but I dont know what.
Has anybody had this problem?

Re: Window help please
Your most likely going to have to pull the door panel of and inspect the window. You should be able to watch the window roll down and see what is causing it to stop.
Possibly a track that is out of place and needs to be adjusted.

Clean and lube the tracks really well. There may be some sort of failsafe in the later harness that is shutting the motor off after a certain amount of mechanical resistance is reached, which increases the current pull through the system. Like a circuit breaker.

Is the motor ok? I had a problem like that with my 98 Camaro and had to replace the window motor.

Re: Window help please
Will it move again after a cool down period? Try cleaning and lubing the tracks with lithium grease. There is a thermal overload protector in the motor itself and a circuit breaker in the fuse panel. When the mechanical resistance is too much it will trip one of them.

Yes. Thats what my motor did. It would stop, then work again a few minutes later. I just replaced it. Not very expensive, and took about an hour in my yard. Had to drill out rivets and etc., but not too bad a job. Has worked just fine ever since.
