Replacement Carpet

I am looking at replacing the passenger compartment carpet. It is the grey/gray color. I would like something as close to the original as I can get. So far, I have found the ACC. Before I buy this I was hoping someone could post some pics and opinions of the product. Thanks. Here is a link:

Re: Replacement Carpet

IDK how picky you are, but that does not look correct. Should be one piece to the rear seats, that heel pad looks cheesy. It may cost a little more but why not go with someone like year one or classic?

If it looked like that photo I would not even consider it. "Pictures above are generic examples used for comparison. The carpet you receive will have the correct heelpad shape and design."

Re: Replacement Carpet

I even looked for that, bold red letters too. Late at night, old eyes, short attention span. What can I say?

Re: Replacement Carpet

No prob....I had to read the ad again to make sure it said something to this effect. Pretty picky with the carpet...I have seen some cheap aftermarket carpet and want to avoid it if possible. I found this a month ago and put it on my watch list. Ready to order....hoping to find someone that already got the ACC brand.

Re: Replacement Carpet

Make them work for your money. Ask for an actual photo if no one can help you. Stock pix are a pig in a poke to say the least.

Re: Replacement Carpet

ACC is the only game in town for molded carpet for our cars. Different distributors will sell this under there own name. Look for the best price and be careful of shipping costs. Stretch it out inside and let it warm up in your home before installing.

Re: Replacement Carpet

Agreed...they're all the same.

It's especially a good time to shop around now. I got a set a while back from Year One on sale, shipped for about $140.

Re: Replacement Carpet

I bought new ACC carpet for my IrocZ about 8 years ago. Looks and fits great.

I have used their carpets for my 69 c10 as well as my 55 belair. They are pertty much THE carpet place for all as stated.

Re: Replacement Carpet

Year One code: HSP13 good through 31 Dec.

Be sure to price all the others, 1A, Rock Auto, etc.

Re: Replacement Carpet

I used ACC also. I was happy with it. The colors are not exact, but after 30 years, who knows what the carpet looked when new anyway.
Just an FYI - when you get it, take it out of the box and let it sit opened so no creases set in. Chances are good it was made custom for you and was just put into the box. When you are ready to install it, pick a nice warm day and let it sit in the sun The install will go much smoother without creases and if the backing is soft.

Re: Replacement Carpet

OK, one more question: How do I verify the color? It shows four shades of gray for '89? Is interior coloe on the RPO list in console?

I was thinking the retailers are simply redistributing ACC carpet. Thanks for the verification on that.

Cheapest I can find is $163 Shipped. Year One has always been too high on prices, but good to have around for repop when needed. Thanks for the YO code, but the carpet was still 179+shipping. It shows the carpet is exempt from any discounts.

Re: Replacement Carpet

I can't even get them to respond to an email requesting a pic of the heel pads. Maybe I will call them tomorrow.

I know they will send you carpet samples but I don't know about the vinyl foot pad, never seen that offered for a sample
And yes,the interior color would be on the RPO list,

Re: Replacement Carpet

It is the holiday season, response time may be a little slow.

Idk why you are so concerned about the heel pad.

Acc carpet is in 99% off all restoration cars and show cars out there, not too mention, it's your only choice, unless you are able to find some NOS carpet out there, and pay a fortune for it.

I just dont want some poorly manufactured carpet. I am now more concerned with getting the correct color. I found 822 on the RPO list. Can't seem to verify definitively. Thanks for the input.

Re: Replacement Carpet

Like I said, they are your only choice. ACC is THE carpet company for the restoration market.

I have yet to see another choice.
