See Post #28 - My custom upholstered '97-'02 Camaro seats
I've got a teaser picture to show for my 4th gen Camaro seats that were originally a set of houndstooth '97 heritage seats that were pretty torn up. My upholstery shop that I've always gone to made some custom skins for them.
I was originally going to just go with the medium (dove) grey which is the same color as my interior and would match the vinyl door panels, but when I found out his supplier couldn't get the correct perforated material for the inner sections in that color grey (the 4th gen grey is different), I decided to do something different...
This is one of the bottom sections of the rear seat, obviously. The grey is the factory 1991 color for my car, and the black is the ebony from later 4th gen cars. And to add to this, the three emblems (two front headrests and the center of the rear seat fold-down section) will have a black embroidered Z28 logo.
This is a teaser, I'll post up the finished product when I have them next week.

Wow, looks awesome. Can't wait to see the finished product. If you don't mind sharing, how much are you paying to get them redone. I bought some covers from Iggees to hold me up for the meantime, but plan to redo my seats as well.

The ballpark price they've given me was $600-700 for all four seats including the embroidery work. They haven't nailed down an exact price yet, but for what they're doing this is already a great price. And their work is top notch, as you can see.

$700 is pretty good. I figured you'd be closer to $1,000 for all seats. Post install pics when you're done. I'm interested to see how it looks since we both have blue cars.

I definitely will. When I picked out the colors I used their sample book and held the grey up to my leather door panels and it matched perfectly. It's gonna look pretty slick I think.

Re: My custom upholstered '97-'02 Camaro seats
Here's an update for you, the back seat is completely finished. They told me today that they'll probably have the fronts finished on Monday or Tuesday next week. They're also spraying the plastic trim for the sides of the front seats grey to match the rest of my interior since that stuff is currently black.
I am thoroughly impressed with how they've turned out so far. These are going to look spectacular in my car.

That is just like the color scheme I had planned for mine. Thanks for sharing now I know that's what I'm going with.

It's vinyl, leather would be considerably more expensive and being a convertible, would be much more difficult to maintain.

Re: My custom upholstered '97-'02 Camaro seats
What would a set of all white vinyl covers with a 30th logo on them cost, front and rear? My brother has a convertible 30th SS clone and is wanting to put white seats in his.

Re: My custom upholstered '97-'02 Camaro seats
Cool I will let my brother know. He found a guy selling a set of OEM white 30th covers from a 15,000 mile car for $500 but the guy was a total douche and wouldn't sell them to my brother when he found out his car is a clone.

Ok sounds good. That's crappy of the guy. I wouldn't think it should matter if his car was a clone or not. As long as the guy was going to get what he was asking for the covers, then what's the big deal? Some people are just like that. Your brother can email me if he has any questions.

Re: *Finished* My custom upholstered '97-'02 Camaro seats
Hurry up and put them in the car....lol. I want to see how they look with the rest of the interior. I'm really liking the combo and how it all turned out. Good choice. I think I may need to go with a newer seat as well. The 91 seats are really bulky compared to the 4th gen seats.

Re: *Finished* My custom upholstered '97-'02 Camaro seats
Hoping to have my stock seats sold tomorrow and will get these put in this weekend if the weather is nicer than the 20* it's been the last few days. I have to cut out the pin on the trans tunnel for the one-piece back seat to fit and it's too cold outside for that right now.

One question though....why did you elect to have the fourth gen Z28 font embroidered on the seats?

Re: *Finished* My custom upholstered '97-'02 Camaro seats
Honestly didn't even notice that there is a slight difference until you asked that. When looking through their catalog of digitized patterns, this was the only Z28 logo available though. It's of no concern to me though, I don't think many people will notice the difference or really have an opinion on it one way or another.
