looking for good interior person Mpls MN

looking to get my headliner done and looking for a name of a good place to go as Fred of "convertible tops and interiors by Fred" ctibyfred.com
does not seem to want to work for/with me in any way- BEWARE. i called him in Aug of 2012 to do a headliner for me in my 87, he said he could do it in October, but he blew me off when i finally called him back waiting till mid october, (too busy, did not schedule an appointment back in aug for me?) so i pateintly waited and called him towards the end of May 2013, he said he was booked till July and to call back on the first of July, which i did, I thought since his shop is close to my home, i asked if he could pull it at my shop, he said that was a good idea (LAST YEAR) he could take it out at my place (said it would not take that long) and take it back to his shop and do it as a filler job, he promised to come out on the 8th of July so i left work early to meet him and waited till past 7;30 for him- he was suppose to be there at 6;00, i finally called him and he was having some trouble with something so i politely said ok, please call me and let me know, now its friday the 12th and haven;t heard from him, so i call again, when i talk to him he has no idea of the project- and have to tell him the whole thing again- then all the sudden he is gone- lost the call (i am on a land line-hung up on me? i was for sure not being a bit nasty) so i call back, get a answering machine (????) i leave a message to call me back this is at around 4;30 now its 7pm and have not heard back, so i call again, and he says he is too busy to do it, i would have to bring it to him, so i ask when could I drop it off? silence-- followed by, i guess i can;t do it for you.
i think more situations like this should be heard so people know what to expect- so anyone know a good interior guy?

Do it yourself, all you need is the material(from Classic)and a can of 3M spray glue. These upholstery shops don't want to work on small jobs, their's no money in it for them.

Not true...I would call Steve (owner) @ Aero Upholstery. 952-473-5400. They do lots of custom work on autos/boats, etc. Lots of customers from Lake Mtka area. Shop is located in Medina (just west of Plymouth).

Personally, I don't have time/inclination to do certain things on my cars anymore...that is why professionals exist

Re: looking for good interior person Mpls MN

Thank you for the replys, i have heard there are some irreplaceable clips that have to be removed carefully by someone in the know, and the pricing for a complete job -300-375.00 including sails and visors is almost cheaper than buying the parts !!! i also have tried this in the past with a suburban i had with a vinyl headliner, i removed it, scraped all the foam off, sanded it, spray glued it, a week later it was coming down again!! so the next time i used some brush on contact cement- and it still fell down a short time after!! some things aren't worth doing yourself, i do alot of things myself, but another thing i won't do is exhaust!!
