Brighten Up the Interior
Ok, so alot of people on here can agree that maybe the interior of the third gens are very dim lit and few LEDs would brighten it up. After all we spend more time in the car than outside it.
What I had in mind is brighten the floor shifter lights (automatic models) and the dome light. I bought a LED bulb from Pepboys and hoped that all my problems were over. Well, needless to say the light was bright but this weird cover thing was blocking the lights to be seen well through the letters and numbers for the floor shifter. What can I do to brighten that up?
Same goes for the dome light. I want to be able to keep the cover over the light bulb in the dome light to keep the insides clean and dust free, at the same time have a well lit interior.
That 80s plastic that gives off that dim yellow tinted light is an eye sore for such beautiful cars.
So the questions are: how can I do away with the horrible looking lighting and have a more modern LED, bright, well lit interior?

I didn't like how dim the interior was either. Replaced dome light with an SMD LED panel, installed a rear view mirror with lights (replaced with SMD LED's), added two SMD LED's to the footwells. Huge difference. Most of the bases are 168/194 and are plug and play.

The dome bulb is called a festoon bulb. You can get all the LED bulbs you want at superbrightleds.com. Great place.
