dashpad aftermarket or original?
I just bought a used dashpad out of a 1987 camaro it does not have metal on the inside and the speaker vents are slightly different I am thinking it may be after market. Does anyone know? The speaker vents look the same on the dashpad but the speaker vent holes on my 1990 original pad are an oval shape where as the speaker vent holes on the pad I bought out of an '87 are in a square pattern.

Re: dashpad aftermarket or original?
That's what I was thinking it might be. The speaker vent holes form a rectangular pattern, and no visible steel on backside like my original pad. I think the pictures of the reproduction OER pads also show an oval shaped speaker vent hole pattern though.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Re: dashpad aftermarket or original?
Thanks for the input. I'll take your word for it. OE sounds good to me. I picked it up out of an '87 paid $30 no cracks not faded. It is not perfect though it has a nick on the front that is barely noticeable and some discoloration on the top passenger side from where something was spilled on it. It is 100 times better than the severely cracked pad that I had in the car. Figured I would use it until I found something better.
