Extra gauge mounting w/4th gen dash

For those of you who have done a swap, where did you mount extra gauges if you have any? I specifically have the 93-97 dash and console. I thought maybe the 82-92 gauge pillar would work, but it interferes with the vent bulge in the dash. I do not think the 93-02 pillar would work because of the same issue. My idea was to use my 98-02 console I have laying around and mount the two gauges in the gap between the dash and console with either the universal gauge cups or an overhead mount that are used on newer trucks. I was curious what other people are doing.
