New/repair dashboard face
What can be done about the cracks on the dash face? I'm sorry I don't have pictures, but the cracks I am talking about are not the dashboard cracks but the cracks in the plastic of the face of the dash, at the same level as the instrument panel.
My 1985 has a lot of cracks and I would rather fix them or buy brand new pieces rather than go through all the trouble of swapping used ones in that will crack again soon. I have thought about removing the plastic and beefing up behind the cracks with fiberglass or something, but the cracks will still be a little visible. Any ideas?

I have not done this, but from everything I have heard and I need to do this.
Actually got the idea cause the steering wheel on my 49 Ford is cracked real bad. Well a lot of guys that restore old cars with plastic steering wheels will grind the crack down to the metal ring, in a v shape. (no bigger then need be) and fill it with a plastic epoxy and paint it. I want to do this, when I get around to it, and get the truck close to streetable, cause a replacement steering wheel is $200.
This has also been suggested for the front bumper covers cause they are plastic and the guys that have done it have had good results.
Same idea, it's plastic. Try that and sand it down and paint it.
Other then that I would agree you would want to replace it.
