Looking for a storage well cover
I am not sure what those things are called, however I will describe it to the best of my ability. Some 3rd gens have a flat door that covers the well under the hatch in the rear of the car. This is an interior part. It makes the trunk floor flat and provides a hidden/lockable storage area. I need one excellent condition in grey. My car did not come with this option, so I need the hardware also. PM your price. Thanks in advance, Charles.

Re: Looking for a storage well cover
Thanks for the heads up. It looks like I will need a lot of parts... Finding all of the parts in the right color in good condition is going to be like finding that needle in a haystack.

i just did the conversion. i had to get the welded on brackets from a donor car. have them welded into place to support the shelf lid. you also need the welded on studs too. i havethe plastic you need but in tan. you can paint it. i got a grey one and painted it tan and it looks good. just a suggestion

Re: Looking for a storage well cover
Assuming the Camaro and Firebird are the same (I donno), I have all this stuff in the car I'm parting out.
83 Camaro Z28. Light grey interrior.
I'll have to double check the condition when I get home.
I remember it being in decent shape, and the lock works, but I wouldn't say it's perfect. Will check for sure and shoot you some photos later today..

Thanks for the offer. Camaro and Firebird are the same. 83 and 86 are different, since they started the third brake light in 1986. My all aslo has the hatch motor, both of which call for changes in the rear facia panel.

I know this is totally irrelevant, but nice signature picture! I'm about 100% sure that's US 129, tail of the dragon?! I've not had my thirdgen down yet, but I have been down it many times on my motorcycle. I'll get a hold of a local guy and see if he has what you're looking for tomorrow

Re: Looking for a storage well cover
Thanks. That picture was taken on the Tail of the Dragon, US 129, November 2010. The TOD is 12 miles from my house, so we are able to get out there on a regular basis. Hope you have a great time out there!
As for that storage well hatch on the 86, if I can find all of the parts in the correct color in perfect condition, I will make the modification. If I can't find exactly what I need to make the job look OE, than I will leave it like it is. My car has the light grey interior. The car lives for the shows, and I don't want mess up a perfect interior and risk loosing show points for a half baked modification job.
My 82 WS7 has that option and it makes a nice looking hatch area with a flat place to store the T-tops.
Thanks,
Charles
