Looking for a Delco EQ radio

I'm looking for an 85-87 Trans Am touch control head unit, the one without ***** and the equalizer. I have the base cassette Delco head unit and looking for a period correct upgrade.

Also, If anyone has one with ***** and an EQ, that'd be great too.

These are the ones I'm looking for:

Re: Looking for an 87 GTA head unit

I think most of those radios with ***** did not have the EQ? Am I right or wrong? I just sold a 87 GTA radio with **** and I'd didn't have an EQ. I did also just pick up an 87 GTA radio without *****, which has all push button controls and an EQ. I believe this was the top model radio available at that time.

Most of them didn't but they were available.

Re: Looking for an 87 GTA head unit

Yeah that's the exact radio I just pulled from the bone yard. Rare find indeed and for 13.00 at Pull and Save too! I took the wiring pig tail and everything. I am going to try hooking it up in my car and see if it works. For what I got it for I can invest some money into refurbishing it but it looks awesome.

Re: Looking for an 87 GTA head unit

I have both of those radios. I am not going to take away any of blackfrontiers interest in this. He is a friend of mine and he called me on his 60th birthday after scoring that boneyard find! (Just kidding Dan!)

If Dan is going to keep his radio (Delco Touch Control) or send it to me for repair or sell it is the key factor on that one.

That radio was a rare one.

The one pictured above was all black for the Corvettes. Grey was another option.

I do have the other one with the ***** $150 shipped.

Re: Looking for a Delco EQ radio

Ha! Thanks Ron! I'm 45 and I should just send this radio to you anyway and have you check it out so I know it's okay. Before I pull the console out again and change my stereo pod out, I'm going to put new carpeting in. Tell me what you want for a round trip cleaning and inspection.

Re: Looking for a Delco EQ radio

Dan, My friend,
I take it that you did not plug it in to your spare speakers and hook it up to your battery,,,,

That's ok, about $12 each way on shipping.
I've still got the one you and I talked about on the phone, repaired, just need to put it back together, maybe an hour or so. got belts on the way for the cassette.

Re: Looking for a Delco EQ radio

No Ron I haven't tested the sterio yet. I may try that still. It has been blazing hot and I pulled some Camaro consoles from the junkyard to refurbish and sell but I'll get that radio checked out or send it to you for a thorough check up since you are the "Radio Jedi" ;-)
