FYI: 82 and 83 are ONLY good for use in another 82 or 83,....... NOT compatible with 84+ Thirdgens.

Guy bought one from me for his 86 T/A and saw him driving it last weekend at a local lake park and told me it worked fine ??

Also sold one to another local guy with a 85 IROC and he came back to buy more parts and told me his mechanic installed the column and also no problems ???

So either BOTH guys are lying to me or people are creative and have talent to make things work ???


These were 82-84 columns BTW

You are correct, Some people have talent,......... & some folks are just out to make a buck. ( The TGO membership will decide which one of those buckets you and I belong in. )

When YOU are able to make an 82-83 column work in an 84+ car, please be sure to enlighten us & document how you did it ( I am sure that you never will. ) My post here was an attempt to help other members avoid problems by buying parts that are compatible with their car, that's all. You obviously don't know - or don't care - that the 82-83 wiper system is not incompatible with 84+ cars. Rather than looking into it to ensure your buyers are getting the proper parts - and maybe being thankful that someone helped you avoid problems with your buyers - it's back to insults. ( not sure why I didn't expect that from you; again. ) https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...-solenoid.html So: Will the 82-83 steering column fit and mount in the car & turn a Thirdgen around a corner - YES. Is it compatible with an 84+ - NO,... It never was & never will be. I've got the talent to make a Trailblazer power mirror fit onto my Berlinetta door,... talent or foolishness for listing to some seller out to make a quick $$ that told me "it will work just fine " ??

I'm sure some folks don't mind not having a working Wiper system,........ it's good to at least be sure that they know that before selling them incompatible parts.
