Seat upolstry new
I had two seat sets made for my '88 convertible using original materials. Exactly like stock. 1000.00

Did you accidentally add an extra 0?
Grant it, most of us would LOVE to have a new set of upolostery for our cars. Honestly, we would just love to know where you found OEM original fabric. Does it have "CAMARO" embroidered on the seat? Can it be installed DIY? Even if the answer is yes to both, the price is still high. Will somebody pay that? Maybe. But you can get a custom set of leather, that match original, for less then $1000.00.
Just my $.02

Re: Seat upolstry new
The material alone cost 980.00. Then to have them made it was another 850.00. I know it wasnt cheap! But if your like me and want the original upolstry then this is what it cost. It comes out to 590.00 for materials and 350.00 labor, I paid 500.00 with the door panels. I also have a '95 camaro convertible and bought leather like seat upolstry for it last year and it was 750.00 for the set. All white, no stitching. I'm not trying to stick it to anyone, I just know how difficult it was to find material and make original upolstry set and what it cost me. Thanks.

If that what the material and labor cost you, then by all means its worth it. When I saw the 1k price tag I was definitely shocked (sticker shock) Forgive for my quick judgement, its just that we dont have any other original new sets to reference for value.

Re: Seat upolstry new
Believe me, if I didn't do this, I would of thought the same thing. I just couldn't bring myself to buy the velour set from all the other places. I also did mine in blue stitching to match the color of the car. Just a personal touch.

Re: Seat upolstry new
Just my 2 cents also. I have restored several 3rd gen Camaro's. The repo cloth seat and door panel kits that can be purchased from Classic Industries or other suppliers are not even close to the original seat material. I re did a interior for a friend and was not happy with the seat material the he purchased. I don't understand why in todays world that the original material cannot be reproduced to match the original fabric and look of original. I do hope that somebody will make a better original replacement soon. Its too bad the the original fabric sun faded so easily. THANKS JIM

Re: Seat upolstry new
and SOLD! Thanks for the great seat covers! Very happy! Will post pics of them once installed.
One final question, whats this cloth called? I want to order some material to do my rear convertible covers. they were only in the same cloth in 92 but I want to try it out.
