Value for a set of new 245/50VR16 Gatorbacks
I just purchased a 1990 IROC-Z. The car came with a brand new set of Goodyear Gatorbacks that have never been mounted on rims and still have the labels attached to the tread. They were purchased in 1991 so they are obviously too old to be used on a driver, but someone with a trailer queen might be looking for these. Anyone have an idea what this set would be worth? I was thinking around 2k.

Potential buyers will probably want to keep their interest on the DL, so you've probably already gotten some PMs or will get them. If the tires were the ZRs, then you'd probably have more bargaining power, but $2,000 for VRs, not sure you'll get that, but why not, right? For people who can afford to keep garage queen show cars, $2,000 is a drop in the bucket.
Brand new back in the 80s/90s, a set of those tires would've cost $1,000, tires only, not an installed price. Today, for 3rdgen owners with 18x9-9.5 wheels, new, modern Gatorbacks are available in 275/35-18 from Goodyear Racing and Carroll Shelby Enterprises in Las Vegas, and a set will cost $2,000, tires only, not installed. So you're in the ballpark, IMO.

Wish i had a resto project worthy of those.
On a side note, one summer back in the day, i went through several of those. The rears just didn't seem to last..

Wow, those are cool! I'm no expert, but based on what I have spent in the past, 2k is probably ballpark these days.
