A question about Firebird taillights.....

OK Firebird historians, I've searched and come up empty. My question is this;

Did the Firebird emblem in the center of the taillights ever light up from the factory on any 82 through 92 Firebird?

I have seen threads where people have done great jobs of lighting the bird up by their own modifications, I was asked by a Firebird friend if the factory ever lit it up, and I don't know whether they did or didn't.

Any and all responses are welcome.....

went through the parts catalog and the options catalog for 82-90 and their is no tail light center pc. option for a light.I would assume the ones you seen are totally a custom setup
PS, that would look pretty sharp i bet.

Not from the factory. There are a few TGO members who have done it themselves and showed it here on the forums, so you should be able to find some threads about it. And I'm thinking somebody sells a "kit" to do it.

This was a pretty popular mod back in the day - I know guys have cars here that have done it, I just dont recall who
BTW, the Fiero guys did it as well

This should have been a factory option alas it was not

In one of the Facebook groups a while back, there was a guy selling kits to do this. It looked very cool.

Re: A question about Firebird taillights.....

Slightly off topic, but I covered my panel with black matte vinyl that matches the bumper guards. I also removed the "Pontiac" on the front driver headlamp, leaving only the b-pillar "birdy" and the front fender "FIREBIRD" decal.

Mostly just posting this for reference in case anyone wonders what it would look like.
