1986 RPO Sticker mounting location

Ok I have seen the RPO stickers mounted on the side wall inside the consoles on 1988 camaros but I just recently saw a post of a 1986 Van Nuys California Built with the rpo stick on the side wall. Has anyone else notice this slight manufacturing difference between the Ohio and California plant. All the 1986 camaro out of Ohio have them on the under side of the console lid.

My '84 T/A, built in Van Nuys, has rpo sticker on the underside of the console lid which makes it difficult to read because the console lid will not open to 90*. I do have the build sheet.

Just curious, have you tried using a small mirror ?

Re: 1986 RPO Sticker mounting location

Because my '84 was imported new into Canada, it is not necessary to read those codes off that sticker as I also have the GM Canada Heritage report that lists all the RPO codes on the car.
I do have a mirror that I could read the codes if necessary.

Re: 1986 RPO Sticker mounting location

84-91 the SPID was located inside the glove center console, the Camaro apparently got them on the lid, the Firebirds got them on the side.
91.5 thru 1992 the SPID was located in the rear compartment, on the left locking compartment lid.
91.5 thru 1992 CONVERTIBLES the SPID was located in the center console.

My 1986 IROC-Z was built in Van Nuys and has the SPID sticker on the side, not on the lid.
