With those miles, it'll fetch far more than $40k. I got more than that on my 20k mile IROC-Z. A low mile 1LE like this, in red, may bring mid $50k range in today's market. Maybe even more.
On those with the base interior, they did not get carpet on the sides of the console.. just the black plastic
What defines base interior though? I have the same seats and door panels in my '91 RS, but the sides of my console are still Red. Maybe it has something to do with radio delete, or A/C delete?

The base interior has the vinyl door panels, and high back bucket seats. The better interior has cloth door panels and seats with movable head rests
