Already north of 33k with 8 days left.
Few items of concern that I noticed were the lack of Cloisonne emblems on the sail panels, incorrect center caps, and 5.0 Liter H.O. hood scoop decal when this is a CFI car.
Should be interesting to see what it sells for.

I am sure it has been "re-striped", possibly repainted due to the great GM paint jobs of the 80s...

Really nice car. But that price seems insane.
Damn nice interior though. And a lot of IROCs sell for crazy money because Chevy taped "IROC" on the side of a Camaro. Cars are emotion-driven purchases.
Out of my league for sure. And honestly, I'd be just as happy with that <$5,000 5.0 Firebird in a recent post.

The car has 2700 miles. The low mile IROC-Z are selling for good money these days with the highest I've seen was at $63k. There have been a few others in the mid $50k range. These were all extremely low mile cars.
Due to the current pricing, I sold my IROC-Z for a great price. And it wasn't even considered extremely low miles at 21k.

SOLD FOR $39,000!
I did not expect to see that kind of money for a early third gen firebird, 2 years ago it would have been $8K tops

No surprised at that selling price; clean, extremely-low-mileage, all-original 3rd gen. In today's market, prices will only continue to climb for unmolested examples.

Re: 2k mile 1983 Recaro Trans Am on BaT
This is the time that I think a lot of people have been waiting for. Whether or not they wanted it to happen or not, it was going to happen. 30 years ago 1st gens were the bottom of the barrel, you could pick them up for $500 to $1500, and they filled trailer parks. Then 10 years later 2nd Gens were in that position, where there were it seemed that local laws written in New Mexico where citizens were mandated to have at least one but preferably 2 sitting in their back yard. I think 3rd gens took a little longer, but the time has come. If you have a lower miles one that is a huge bonus. But more than one person decided it was worth about that amount.
I do not like it nor hate it, I just accept the world the way it is, flawed.

40 years is the magic number. These cars are popular because they have a V8. The interiors are often times very rough. Worth fixing up restoring and driving. 80s nostalgia.

There will be a gradual increase in value as the 3rd gen numbers in existence inevitably decline. But I think this car is an outlier at this time.

Re: 2k mile 1983 Recaro Trans Am on BaT
Irocs and specialty Thirdgens I see bringing big $ as Gen -X gets older, more financially able, and more $$ to spare. But this car does surprise me. Just a few years ago a 7-8K car, nothing spectacular other than the low miles. I hate to see these cars prices go up. It will certainly push people out of the market. I will keep mine but buying another Thirdgen at these prices isn't feasible to me when they are getting into Corvette price range.
