Based on the one interior picture, it looks like 1987-1989 Trans Am or GTA. Unless the plate was ran, there's not enough details to know more beyond that given the interiors are so similar and just one interior picture is too dark to show a few changes between 1987-1989. That still leaves the Trans Am or GTA question. GTAs came standard with the Ultima seats but they were optional on the Trans Am. That's not considering the car is custom so anything is subjected to not being original to the car.

Re: Notchback: Can you tell what this firebird (Trans AM) was originally?

Very few Trans Ams came with Ultima seats, and even fewer with leather, but like JT said, it's so custom at this point that I wouldn't be surprised if the seats came from a different car. Seats are definitely from a 1987-92 car though, so they could be original '89 GTA seats. I'd say the only way to tell for sure on this car is to see the SPID and verify that it has the Y84 RPO code. Console lid looks like it might be original, so it might be there.

I think it's kind of cool. The tail is a bit awkward, but then, so was the Testarossa's tail. I love the front end and side views.

Post the VIN (without the last 6 Digits if you wish to keep some privacy).

That will tell you what the car is.

The Trans Am and GTA share the same 1G2FW prefix. How can you tell more beyond the year? Especially without the full VIN? You would need to look up the invoice to look for Y84.

Re: Notchback: Can you tell what this firebird (Trans AM) was originally?

If the only goal here was to tell if the Car was a GTA...
The obviously the incomplete VIN will not help.

I assumed that more information/ other information was wanted... and not just determining status as a GTA.

Obviously if the OP Posted a 1G2FS... then the Car could not be a Trans-AM or GTA.

If you check the RPO codes in the console you should see DORK for the Firerrari Toasterossa package.

Re: Notchback: Can you tell what this firebird (Trans AM) was originally?

If the interior has all original pieces,
The seats are 87-89 GTA
Leather was NA in 87, so 88-92

The dash has the subwoofer controls, so it would be an 87/88 , assuming that the dash has not been replaced... There were 3 yes 3 1989 GTA's with the Subwoofer, I doubt this is one of them.
If it has the back seat shoulder harnesses then it would be 89-92
