A 1990 IROC-Z with 37k miles sold today for $29k. Another car is currently up there, a 1987 IROC-Z with 1700 miles, that in one day has bd up to $50k. We need to keep an eye on these cars as they are increasing in value if they are original and low miles.

It's enough to make someone want to ask 10,900 more for their own IROC-Z
LOL. It is. A car's value is in what someone is willing to pay for it. If some of these cars are selling for ridiculous prices, just because they're low miles, that means there are people out there looking to buy. Now, 21k miles is not as low as the 1700 mile one listed above, but 21k miles is still low miles for a 34 year old car. The previous owner of the 1700 mile car has told me that this car cannot compete with mine on the cleanliness side. I don't know if I agree with that, but he knows what he had and he has driven my car a few times. I think that should have some value.
With that, believe it or not, I have been contacted by a couple serious buyers about my car. I was a bit surprised, but there are buyers out there looking for clean, original, low mile cars.
Considering the state of the auto market (both new and used) in general in the US at this time, and the upheaval that's coming just around the corner, the value increase in original 3rd gens is inevitable.
So if it doesn't sell for 34K, then raise the price?!
This was mostly meant to give you a jab and not to offend. I know there has been some time and some changes that have a factor. I also know, just based on the pictures posted and some side comments over the years, how clean the car is. I'm not saying it's not worth either price. But you have to admit it being a bit unusual way of doing things.

I have to be honest though. I had the '82 pace car on this forum for 2 years and on facebook marketplace for 3 months. I had it listed at $16k in both places. I had many offers at $10k-$13k, and even had a TGO member ready to buy at $14.5k, but a personal issue stopped that sale. I decided to pull the car from facebook after I was seeing higher prices on Autotrader. I listed the car for $20k and it sold the 1st day! Many people probably don't think the 1700 mile IROC-Z above is worth $50k, but all it takes is one. I found the one for the '82, and I'm waiting for the one on the IROC-Z. If it doesn't sell, I get to enjoy it longer.

Yup, whatever you're selling, you need to get it in front of that ONE guy who wants it.
Hi guys. Just wanted to touch on the subject. I am picking up a 1983 Firebird a friend is giving to me p. It’s all original 80,000 miles. Needs paint and cleanup probably have to go through it all. I was talking to another friend and he called me a few days later and he said he had a buyer for my Firebird. I told him it wasn’t for sale. He said the buyer was willing to pay 5k as is. Right now I don’t know anything more as far as the car. I’m picking up the car Saturday.
I also have a few 7.3 Ford diesel trucks. I get at least one offer every time I drive either truck. The highest offer I had was 17k at a gas station. Guy didn’t know anything and out the truck. Just said is that a 7.3? If you wanna sell it it got 17k cash right now. my 1995 S500 i got a few offers for 6/7k from people in parking lots or notes left on the windshield. I have 1989 GM short bed single cab in the backyard and there is usually one or two notes or someone rings the doorbell asking if it’s for sale.I’m noticing lots of older cars are starting to get up in price. I think a lot of the guys who wanted these cars as kids can now afford them. Some are doing it as a investment. Some are doing it cause they just have a crap ton of money
My buddy sold a 1999 F350 crew4x with 130,000 miles for 23,000 bucks. He sold his 1987 24 foot Trophy for 29,000. None of the buyers even tried to talk him down.
we went lookingof a new car for my wife. ,ost dealers were at sticker for cars we didn’t want and 5/7/10 k “market adjustment” for any vehicle we wanted. It’s absolutely crazy out there.

For future reference and TGO searches on this topic, the Dark Red Metallic '87 IROC-Z sold for $60,500. If you add in the 5% buyer's fee, the total is $63,525. And a yellow '87 IROC-Z with 1800 miles sold on eBay for $40k.
