Just saw it hit the block for $25k + 10% buyers fee.

It was nice but not a tpi car.

I'm not really sure what's happening, but that was a $10,000 car 12-18 months ago.

Was never a 10k car in my book. Not with that engine, interior, and crank windows

Re: 86 IROC with 45k miles sells for $27,500 at Mecum Houston

Back in the day there were people that would go to a dealer and buy an IROC only to come home and realize they didn’t get the TPI one when their friends pointed it out... heard that story a few times at cruise ins...

One guy with that story said, “you know what? I couldn’t race anybody, but I had a great time with that car and it was a great car...” It was funny because when he got it home from the dealer and popped the hood his brother saw the air cleaner and said, “you got the wrong one!”

It’s possible this could still be happening. Some people just see the decals and think it was the top Camaro you could get at the time. They don’t know how many engines and options were available throughout the years. To them it’s just the car they wanted to cruise in High School. It might not even matter that much to some people.

Problem is there is still beyond thousands of people that just don't have a clue, the information is here people are just to lazy to learn anything, most people make things up in their mind that are un educated about these cars. That's why i will never understand people putting down 25 grand on a LG4 IROC and people will tell me to shut up its not my money why should i care... Well i know it's not my money but it doesnt make the car worth that much. Nicer more original better optioned IROCs with less miles have a hard time breaking 25k on BAT because buyers reads the comments below they may have been excited in the beginning "Oh wow its the iroc ive been looking for" then they read the comments and see negative comments because the car may have a weak factory powertrain down to lacking a certain RPO missing or something non factory which a buyer cant read about at a mecum or barrett Jackson auction and all that can hurt the bidding on BAT. Thats why i said that car never would of brought that on BAT. People atleast get an education lesson in the comments section if they don't know much about these cars.

Re: 86 IROC with 45k miles sells for $27,500 at Mecum Houston

No one loves IROCs more than I do, but I am never spending that kind of money or even more on one. If I were ever to sell mine, (which I am not), going by market trends, I have a good idea on what I'd ask for them. No way would I pay that as a buyer.

Just sayin'.

I wouldn’t pay any of the prices I see going on no matter the RPOs. Still love the cars.
