Is this decal correct for an 85 TA?

Hi, the previous owner of my car had it repainted at Maaco (Egad!) and I just realized that I haven't seen another 85 with the "outline" style of lettering. Did any 85's come with this style from the factory or did the "professionals" at Maaco use the wrong decals?

Figures that I would notice after I spent several hours and 20 bucks on custom 350 decals that match the lettering...

Thanks

Technically, I think the outline decals are 87-90, but if you like them they don't look glaringly wrong.

As Drew said, the outline is not correct for the 1985.

That said, the ThirdGen Trans Am never advertised the 350/5.7 on the outside. So if that's added, the script style for Trans Am would not be the only exterior incorrectness.

Huh, I could've sworn that I'd seen a 5.7 decal before, I must be imagining things. Either way I guess the car's already not original under the hood so it doesn't really matter too much.

Thanks for the responses.

The Formula advertised the 350/5.7 engine on the outside. The Trans Am did not have a 350/5.7 sticker.

My 85 T/A had the same checkerboard/fade stripe.
Maroon body w/ silver stripe.
Dealer installed bird on hood too!

Sounds nice, I wish I had pictures of my car from before the respray.

Could have sworn the 87-90 T/A had 5.7L decals under the fender vents. Phoenix Graphics lists them.

Never have seen a 1987-1990 T/A with a 5.7L decal in the real world or literature. Of course there's variables there. But I also don't see such a sticker listed in the P&I manual either:

Yeah, not seeing a listing in either half of the P&I catalog other than 5.0 Liter HO or 5.0 Liter FI. Positive I remember seeing plenty of 5.7 Liter FI decals on T/As back in the mid 90s, but just as easily could have been Camaro decals added by owners. It's tough to find any photos of 5.7L Trans Ams that aren't GTAs in the sales brochures. Anyway, can't prove they existed, the documentation seems to support that they didn't exist, so be it.
