Wow! Look at how perfectly preserved the underbody is with that super highly desireable undercoating.
Maybe it's just me, but something about the photos just seems a little fishy. Like the black accents are a little too shiny. Maybe the seats are a little too 'puffy'. Gold centercaps when none of the trim on the rest of the car is Gold? Seems odd.

It was hit by an armor-all bomb. Peruse their other listings and their cars all have that last minute auction prep vibe to them...
This looks like it could be a nice car, but it may have some rust hiding beneath the undercoat. Seems like a gamble - is it superficial or serious?

Amazing how the rust proofing protected the areas that still has undercoating. I see rust only where the undercoating has flaked off. See guys! The undercoating protected the majority of the car!!

The car is nice. Not for the amount they want. So is the undercoating really a thing for cars sold in snow or other moist environments? Being here in So. Cal. I don't ever recall seeing any car with undercoating ever at any shop while it being serviced. And on the headliner, it looks too good. Doesn't the glue fail over time creating the sag our cars usual get?

Undercoating is a service offered by car dealers to fleece the ignorant of their cash. <mic drop>
I'm still running original headliners in two of my cars. The one in the Mustang was still good, until it was out of the car and the cat got to it. It's not the glue that fails either. It's the foam rubber padding. Foam rubber turns to goo over time. Like the foam covers on the Walkman headset that decayed, or the Dagobah playset's quick sand turning to crumbling brown goo... Just nature of the beast. Other examples are the foam in the heater box, the foam insulator between the ECM and it's holder, the foam wrapped around wiring connectors, etc to keep them from rattling.... All of that stuff gives up with time. When the foam between the headliner cloth and the backing board rots, the fabric falls.

Got it on the foam.
Btw, I was sort of coaxed by the Chevrolet dealer for an add on when I got my Camaro. Some type of ignition security in which you had to pop in a chip to start your car. My car was broken into once and they destroyed my steering column. Kept my car though. So I suppose that was a good sell.

I had an old foxbody that was undercoated when it was new. The car had no major rust issues besides the rear hatch. NY is a harsh environment for cars so I credit that black gooey stuff to saving the car. Those cars rust out much like third gens in the floor boards and the strut towers. It would have still been around if my son hadn't crashed it into a pole.
