Probably since someone shoved it in there that way. 
They really don't take kindly to that. I've run into more than one over the years that were so perfectly jammed in there that they wouldn't come out without some serious effort. I'll bet it's GOOD and stuck in there.

Love the Quartz clock in the console! I think 85 was the last year for that. Would be awesome if it had the L69 with 5 Speed!
