/Drive /Big Muscle: The Perfect IROC

Its not often thirdgen's get reviewed on video. They are still in that gray area where they are regarded as the dark horse of the 80's smog compared to the power on tap with todays cars.

But /Drive and Mike Musto like bringing old stuff to video. Thankfully we get an IROC. Does it belong to anyone on these forums? I haven't watched it yet.

Re: /Drive /Big Muscle: The Perfect IROC

It's not working now.

When I watched it before I noticed that the video was interlaced. Maybe they are reuploading it to fix that.

Re: /Drive /Big Muscle: The Perfect IROC

Hand down that's the most beautiful third gen I've seen. I met the owner at the good guys autocross in Norcal, really nice guy. It's amazing how immaculate that car still looks.

That was an awesome vid! Everything they said is what I feel about my car. These cars are a blast to drive for all the reasons they state...and I love the fact that everywhere I go someone comments on my car, it is amazing!

Well, it may be TPI, and a 383. But you know those bolt-on looking intake parts aren't going to get it to 400whp. So that number is a bit exaggerated.

That doens't take away from how clean the car is though.

True but I kinda expected a LSX. I'm glad it's TPI.

The automatic trans ruins it for me. I love the car overall, but with what he has spent, put a T56 in it already....

I was thinking the same thing, he has the rest pretty much done...all it needs is a stick.

Don't forget mini-tubbed to tuck some 315's in back.

How about that automatic shifter & boot he has installed? Looks like a dragster automatic!
Anyone recognize it and where to get one like that?

Digging the Recaro seats with the OEM material on them.

HAH! "You can fit a lot of stuff in this car!" When mine was new I used it to move to a new apartment......like it was a pickup truck!

When I was in a band I used mine to haul my big speaker cab, head unit, my bass, and a couple of the drummers pieces to shows.

The wheels do look great. One of the nicest low budget aftermarket wheels you can buy. I paid less than $800 for mine, and their TUV approved.

Clean car overall. Agree on the stick shift.
