Recent eBay prices

Has anybody else noticed the prices of cars on eBay this week? I can't believe what I'm seeing.

1987 IROC-Z, 4400 miles, 43 bids, reserve not met at $24,000
1986 IROC-Z, 17k miles, 1 offer, Buy it Now at $18,500
1990 IROC-Z 1LE, 121 miles, 4 offers, Buy it Now at $69,995
1991 Z28 1LE, 460 miles, 3 bids, reserve not met at $22,600
1985 IROC-Z, 80k miles, no bids, Buy it Now is $19,995
1989 IROC-Z, 9367 miles, 1 offer, Buy it Now at $22,900
1987 IROC-Z, 6800 miles, 1 bid, Buy it Now at $37,500
1988 IROC-Z, 9541 miles, 1 offer, Buy it Now at $22,900
1992 Z28, 6997 miles, Buy it Now at $24,995

Maybe I need to list my car and see what I can get for it. My engine bay is cleaner than all of these low mile cars. Plus, it has history!!!!

Re: Recent eBay prices

So none of these cars sold? People can ask whatever they want the only indicator of value I see are the low $20k bids on the 4400 mile 87 and the 91 1LE. Regardless looks like $20k seems to be the mark for ultra low mileage cars now. Too bad we couldn't see what the offers where on some of the cars.

Re: Recent eBay prices

Yes, I've noticed the prices have been creeping up over the past 2 to 3 years I've been watching them on ebay. I've also noticed the total number of thirdgens of all types posted on ebay at any given time has been decreasing slowly. Supply goes down, price goes up.

Re: Recent eBay prices

I'm not too surprised to see the low mile cars hike numbers up like that. The $69,995 price tag on the '90 1LE IROC is a joke, considering you can get a documented perfect 1st gen Z for about 60k (on eBay at least).

Once the rusted junk gets off the road and these cars become less and less common the price will go up, which is nice I suppose. Don't seem to see too much interest in the early ones though.

What does a documented first gen selling for $60k have anything to do with a third gen selling for good money. I also saw a 3rd gen Firehawk for sale for $80k on ebay. Not sure where you're going with that comparison.

Re: Recent eBay prices

Maybe people are starting to understand that besides the COPO 427 cars, a mint top model IROC-Z will run circles around 1st Gens in everything stock for stock.

Ultimately it's up to the buyer, but a 1st gen Z/28 is a better investment than a 1990 1LE IROC, IMHO. I'm not saying that that car isn't worth a pretty piece of change, I was simply pointing out that the seller may be disillusioned slightly with his asking price(since he made it higher than that of an equally nice '69 Z28).

In saying that I feel the need to say, I love my thirdgen, and am not trying to say that they are worthless, etc etc. I am just a camaro enthusiast on the whole. I'm glad they are going up in value.

Re: Recent eBay prices

In Europe they are even more expensive. Some dealers in Germany or Italy sell the v8 5.0 for 12,000€ (that's @15,800$) and up and they get more and more expensive from month to month.Even for the V6 ones prices start from 2500€ (@3300$) for the ones that need alot of love.
