1986 Camaro convertible origin

I have a 1986 black Camaro convertible with black top. It has a Z28 limited addition badge on the inside dash with a number below it. I have been reading a lot of info online but still have not found any concrete answers. So I come to the guys that know best for assistance! My biggest questions are:
1. How can I tell who did the convertible conversion? I know GM didn't do any factory convertibles in 1986. I see that ASC did a lot of conversation for dealers with the blessing of GM.
2. I have a factory looking Z28 Special Edition logo with a number of 0057 below it. What does that mean and the significant of the number.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

Re: 1986 Camaro convertible origin

just by the badge i would say i'm almost 100% certain its an ASC conversion, if you could post some exterior pics and interior pics of the that car would help a lot more.

Re: 1986 Camaro convertible origin

More than likely, with the dash badge, it's an ASC conversion. The number doesn't mean anything other than the fact that it's the 57th 1986 convertible IROC-Z/Z28. ASC is the company that did the GM "factory" conversions, so the quality is comparable to the factory verts.
