Help - 1984 UU7 radio?
Hi,
I’m looking for some help/guidance with the UU7 (AM/FM ETR Cassette) radio in a 1984 Trans Am. This is the original radio my car came with and I’m trying to find one to put back in. If you have one in your car and could help me out I’d appreciate it!
The questions I have about the radio are;
1) Did they all have a power (PWR) button? In the Delco catalog (scans attached) it seems they had one. The ones I have seen in Trans Ams so far do not have that button. I’m assuming they turn on using the volume ****. Is this the case or could these be ’83 model radios?
2) Night illumination – did the UU& have a faceplate that lit up orange when the headlights were on? It looks like they didn’t? Again, not sure if there was any difference between ’83 and ’84.
Thanks so much for any answers you may have.

Re: Help - 1984 UU7 radio?
I guess that apart from the lack of EQ and a different layout in the buttons, it shouldn't be very different from the UU6. I have it, it has a grey power button and orange backlighting, except the screen which was always green (apart from the very rare units from the '83 DT500 which were red).
