I recently bought an 83 z28 camaro. it has no motor but is factory 5speed with no AC or power anything and i think its a radio delete also. Where can i find the RPO codes for this car, i looked in the console? I tried breaking down the plate on the car and everything ive researched on here the 15L and 15U means it was factory silver correct? Also will the later third gen camaro dashs fit? Thanks for all the help.

GM did not have a RPO sticker in the car until 84, you can try to dig into your car for a build sheet that may be under the carpet (I found a trim sheet for mine in the bottom of the driver seat) if you don't have any luck with that you can order a dealer invoice from http://www.gmmediaarchive.com/ or a window sticker from http://www.window-sticker.com/

as for the dash yes you could put one in but i don't know if it would be correct for an 83.

Just FYI....I found my build sheet under the REAR drivers side seat cushion --- had to remove it to change the shocks on the rear of the car and there it was!

Dash pads for 82-3 were unique and very hard to find in good condition.

Pads for 84-92 were all the same for Camaro. Firebird pads will not fit.

Any pad from 82-92 will fit your Camaro.

Any Camaro dash pad will fit from 82-92, but there is also a difference in the pattern for the speaker grill holes from mid-year 89-92 they are in an oval shape instead of a rectangle shape as in the earlier years. This only matters if your trying to keep your Camaro 100% original.

Your best bet for finding the RPO is the build sheet which, if the original seats are still in the car, should be folded up and tucked under the passenger seat. Remove the seat and see what you find.

Where can i find the part number for the factory paint so i can order some? Or would the paint shop be able to look it up on their computer?
