Here is an option I have never seen. C4B, could be C48, double play value option. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NO-RE...c7d9ca39#v4-40

It's from an 1985 Z28. Notice on the top right side of the document it says Oct 1984, I wonder if it has something to do with the world series?

Re: Here is a rare option for ya. C4B?
hi there, im just trying to de-code my 87and i have C4B. found a camaro site which lets u put in rpo's and it tellsu what they are. you first put in your year model. it stated
C4B
PERFORMANCE PACKAGE ENGINE UPGRADE
i'm led to believe that i have and IROC
i have z28 but no b4z ???
Plus many conflictng/ confusing rpo's
i have a LG4 but have just fully re wired the whole engine bay and the engine harness is the same as the L69 diagram?? intake fuel pump run off oil pressure switch, single electric cooling fan..
so is this C4B a HO LG4 ??
my SPID has 75 rpo's i can only match up some, and help there would be great

Re: Here is a rare option for ya. C4B?
C4B is not an engine package.
From this thread about your car: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...-car-iroc.html
1987:
1987 IROCs used two different RPO codes--"Z28", and "B4Z". Plain Z28s will have just "Z28" in the RPO codes. IROCs will have both "Z28" and "B4Z", because "B4Z" is the RPO code for the IROC package, which was added on to the "Z28" package. For 1987, No "B4Z"=no IROC.
However, if your SPID is missing, the eighth digit of the VIN may be able to tell you what you have:
IROC Engines:
F (LB9)
H (LG4)
8 (L98)
--In 1987, if your VIN shows an "8" in the 8th position, you have an IROC, because the IROC was the only model this engine was available in.
--In 1987, if your VIN shows either "F" or "H", the VIN tells you nothing about the car's status as an IROC, because these engines were also used in other models. You will need the RPO codes from the SPID.
--The RPO code to look for in 1987 is "B4Z". For this year, No "B4Z"=No IROC.
You do not have an IROC.
