Re: Third Gen Camaro on Horspower TV!
I caught that show halfway through too, didn't get to see how the car looked when they started. I really liked it until the very end of the show when the car was almost done and they said something like "we were running out of time at the end of the 4th day" and realized I'm not half as far along as them at the end of 4 months..

it was nice and all but theyt should have picked some one else! he just got out of basic, get an older soldier who has seen it all and do that for him. no offense to anyone. and that rear end was ugly with that eagle molding. but overall nice car!

Re: Third Gen Camaro on Horspower TV!
i have it dvr'd its got 3:73 and a 350 producing 370hp i think they said ill have to watch it again but i think they did a t-56 swap as well so ya it would be a pretty beastly street car...they did a beautiful job on the under body on that car... it started life as a 82 Berlinnetta < sp? but looks like they put a 85 an up nose on as well as raised z28 wing ...in the show they did not do anything to the body or paint but they stated at the end of the show they were going to give him a paint job as well ...o ya one more thing he is not a war vet hes fresh in the army and will be shipping to Afghanistan soon

dvr'd it, because there is no way I was getting up that early lol. Anyways I wasn't to impressed. They bolted in subframe connectors instead of welding them in who does that when you have like 5 welders right next to you I was really hoping they would go all out on it like lsx swap or something

Re: Third Gen Camaro on Horspower TV!
saw it twice, pretty good episode. I'm sure we all would have done things differently but it's a helluva lot better now then when it rolled in.
It was idling pretty high when he started it, i'm sure that wasn't planned. lol

Re: Third Gen Camaro on Horspower TV!
Just saw that episode this weekend, The motor knocked down 383hp and 435 ft/lbs at the crank on the engine dyno with no accessories. My guess would be it probably puts down 300rwhp. Not to bad for a ZZ4 SB and summit AL heads IMO. More power than I expected anyway, i was thinking 350hp @ the crank max.
Yea they called it an 82 Berlinetta, sure as hell didn't look like one! 91-92 wing and late 80's gfx/nose. I didn't look like it had a 3rd brake light in the window so I am assuming it was a pre 85 glass, had the 82-89 dash. Kind of a frankenstein 3rd gen as far as body goes.
They did a complete build on the trans using all new TCI internals/hard parts. The guys building the trans mentioned they only thing they re-used was the case and I would assume the main part of the valve body. Hotchkis springs/swaybars/lca's/PHB. New front brakes w drilled/slotted rotors but left the rears drum, but rebuilt them with all new parts. New axle's/posi/gears. Think they put an aluminum rad and E Fans too if IIRC. According to the link above, the powerblock site there is a parts list and they have the SFC's listed as weld on. I saw them bolt the rear part on which goes around where the LCA mounts and that is standard for those type of SFC's, I don't recall seeing how the attached them at the front though.
